This is a joint meetup with Hudson River and Beyond Kayaking Meetup group.

Constitution Marsh Sanctuary is a unique 270-acre tidal marsh managed by the National Audubon Society. It is on the east side of the Hudson River two miles south of the town of Cold Spring, and is directly opposite the West Point Military Academy. The marsh is an irreplaceable habitat and provides refuge for birds, fish and other wildlife of the Hudson River Estuary.

Bring a lunch and water; remember do not wear cotton. You will get your feet wet. Also remember to
bring dry cases for cameras and cell phones, and floaters for your eye (sun) glasses.

Kayak rentals are avalable through Hudson Valley Outfitters at 63 Main St. Cold Spring, NY 10516 [masked] ~ 866-TO-KAYAK. Call them the week before we paddle to make sure they have a boat for you. http://www.hudsonvall...

If you will be renting from Hudson Valley Outfitters, you need to get there early, there will be a number of people renting kayaks and filling out the forms can be time consuming.

As always, you can also rent from The Small Boat Shop, Outdoor Sports, or EMS on Saturday and bring the kayak with you.

We will need to meet The Hudson Valley group in the parking lot before we go, for an accurate head count and pod composition. The area we are going into is very safe but we do need to stay together.

Directions:
Take the Taconic State Pkwy North to Route 301 West (Fahnestock State Park). Go west 8 miles to the Village of Cold Spring (301 becomes Main Street).
The kayak launch is directly across from the train station parking lot where there is unlimited free parking on the weekends. Here is the link for a local outfitter and map of the area: http://www.hudsonvall...
