Aloha! The Philadelphia Outrigger Canoe Club has been paddling in local and regional waterways since 1995. Our canoes are among the first outriggers ever on the East Coast. Our team consists novices to experienced paddlers. While our skills vary, we all share a passion and a respect for this unique water sport.

I would like to make it clear that this is not an independent group. I am representing and promoting the upcoming activities of the Philadelphia Canoe Club that were approved by its board. We're the crafty auxiliary of the Delaware Valley Kayakers.  No kayaking experience needed for this group!  This is a very informal group for planning get-togethers of crafty minded people to work on projects and gossip.  Any and all crafts welcome, especially if you are willing to teach others.  Any skill levels welcome, most of us are rank beginners anyway.  Feel free to invite family, friends, coworkers - anyone who might be interested.  Suggest dates and times for events!

The Orvis Company, based in Manchester, VT is the premier fly-fishing gear manufacturer and retailer. The Orvis store in Plymouth Meeting, PA offers free fly-fishing 101 classes in the store and fly-fishing 201 classes held "on the water" in the spring and summer. Free fly tying classes are held each winter as well as free seminars on all aspects of fly fishing year-round. All equipment is provided for all or most of the free classes.
